"Because drought has shriveled the California avocado crop"

Not true!!!

As Deanna pointed out, the jacking up of the water rates and the cold hearted denial of water to the San Jacquin valley farmers and others has caused a "drought" in avocado production.

Mexico uses THREE TIMES the DDT that the whole USA used when it was legal, TODAY. All of that crap is now BACK in our food supply and we consumers are being fed many toxic pesticides in our food that cannot be used here in America.

When NAFTA was being negotiated, this should have been the key bargaining point. We had leverage then, but have none now.

If Congress really cared, they would outlaw the importing of any produce with toxic chemicals on them. Why should we allow farmers to use that stuff on our food supply and ship it here when it is not legal for our USA farmers to even use that stuff?
